Ahmed Wahba

Ahmed Wahba is a senior medical student at Port Said University with a strong passion for Congenital Cardiac Surgery and an academic career in cardiothoracic surgery.

He is currently working as a Research Assistant under Prof. Sameh M. Said, M.B.B.Ch, M.D., FACC, FACS, Consultant and Head of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, New York. He also serves as a Research Fellow in Cardiac Surgery at El-Nasr Specialized Hospital, Egypt.

Ahmed is actively involved in multiple ongoing research projects focusing on congenital heart disease and congenital cardiac surgical techniques, including outcomes research, complex surgical case analyses, and academic surgical education. Through his collaboration with Prof. Said, he has contributed to a growing body of work including manuscripts, conference abstracts, surgical case reports, and presentations, with several projects currently in progress.

His clinical and academic interests center on improving surgical strategies and outcomes in complex congenital cardiac cases, while building a solid foundation in academic research, evidence-based practice, and surgical innovation.

Ahmed is an active member of EACTS, ACC, TSMA, AATS, and LACES, engaging in international academic networks, collaborative research efforts, and educational initiatives in cardiac surgery. He aspires to pursue a career as a congenital cardiac surgeon, combining clinical excellence, high-impact research, and teaching, with a strong commitment to advancing care for patients with congenital heart disease.
