The RV-PA conduit or Sano modification, has recently been reintroduced into the Norwood armamentarium. Many centers, however, have been experiencing conduit obstruction with the Sano. This video demonstrates a modification of the technique used for the RV-PA conduit that has reduced the incidence of conduit obstruction at our institution.

Drs. Pelletier and Jacobs have given us a beautiful series of drawings illustrating the technique for these two Stage II operations for patients with a single ventricle. It is very interesting that the results of the two different techniques, as shown in Table 1, are nearly identical.
